BLACK BELT CONFERENCE RECAP | SIX BLADES SOUTH DENVER

This past weekend, we had the immense honor of hosting our First Black Belt Conference at Six Blades South Denver, welcoming friends and fellow martial artists from across the U.S. It was an unforgettable 4-day experience filled with world-class instruction, inspiration, and connection.

Day 1 kicked off with a dynamic Budokon Mobility Clinic led by Hanna, followed by a mind-expanding session with Professor Paulo Guillobel, who shared his Guard Passing System rooted in deep Jiu-Jitsu principles. After lunch, we held a Health Panel in partnership with New Hope Regeneration, then wrapped up the day with a BJJ session where our keynote speakers and guests engaged directly with our students on the mat.

Day 2 featured Professor Karen Darabedyan, a top black belt under Sensei Gokor Chivichyan and Sensei Gene LeBell, sharing his devastating Leg Lock System, breaking down mechanics, angles, and strategy. After a delicious brunch provided by MyFitFoods, we took a scenic drive to Vail, ending the day with recovery and bonding time at the Hot Springs.

Day 3 began with a powerful Business Seminar where Professor Guillobel shared the secrets behind building a thriving academy—offering insights that have made his San Clemente school a leader for over a decade. Then, we had the privilege of learning Closed Guard Secrets from Grand Master Marcio Strambowsky, showcasing the simplicity and effectiveness of traditional Jiu-Jitsu. We closed the day with a team BBQ and live viewing of the BJJ Stars matches.

Day 4 wrapped up the conference with another incredible session by Grand Master Strambowsky, diving into Self-Defense techniques based on grip control and deadly wrist locks—a perfect conclusion to a powerful weekend.
